Ok, now onto the highlights of last month’s linky which are 6 Morning Pick-Me-Up Treats!
I thought long and hard about the theme for this month’s round up and then had one of those light bulb moments! Don’t we all like little naughty treat now and again with our morning tea or coffee? Something to lift the spirits and provide a little bit of pick-me-up? That’s exactly what these 6 Morning Pick-Me-Up Treats are!
Coffee Financiers by Foodie Journey
Something for coffee lovers out there! These feathery light, ground almond based cakes flavoured with coffee look and sound irresistible. Sylvie says that you will struggle to eat only one of these and I believe her!
Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls by Something Sweet Something Savoury
I could eat Nickki’s Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls every day for breakfast! Iced with maple cinnamon glaze they have my name written all over them. They are perfect for using up that pumpkin puree you’ve got leftover from when you’ve made your own or perhaps that tin sitting at the very back of the cupboard!
Lotus Biscoff Biscuit Cookies by The Not So Creative Cook
Jhuls decided that lotus biscuits on their own weren’t enough and embarked on making cookies out of them! So if like her you like the taste of lotus biccies but prefer soft cookies over crunchy ones, these little morsels are for you!
Incredibly Easy Danish pastry Dough by Apply To Face Blog
If like me you love Danish pastries but are mortified by the mere thought of giving them a go you should definitely check out Jenny’s recipe! They are not super quick and do require a bit of effort but overall they are not difficult at all and with Jenny’s helpful guidance you can enjoy one or two of these with your morning cuppa soon.
Biscuit Chandelier by Cook Style
Now, this gorgeous biscuit chandelier not only looks good but taste great too. Anca went for two different types of biscuits here: turmeric and pepper ones. These will certainly perk you up in the morning don’t you think?
Sticky Ginger Cake with Tangy Lemon Icing by Once Upon A Food Blog
Last but most certainly not least is Anna’s sticky ginger cake. I simply couldn’t say no to this one as I love all things ginger and ginger cake is also hubbies favourite. I do find ginger goodies go really well with coffee and just a small square of this sticky delight would make perfect morning pick-me-up!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this month’s 6 Morning Pick-Me-Up Treats round-up! I hope these recipes have inspired you and that you’ve found at least one if not more that you will want to make for you and your family!
What I recreated in Jo’s Kitchen Larder last month?
Well, I must say I knew I was going to make them the moment I saw them linked up. I have never had financiers before but as a person fuelled by coffee I knew I would absolutely love them. I baked them pretty much on a whim one morning after dropping kids off at school so started few minutes after 9am and by 10 myself and a friend enjoyed (still slightly warm) samples! Yes, I’m talking about beautifully light Coffee Financiers from Sylvie of The Foodie Journey! I don’t own specialist financier or friand pan and baked them in my silicone muffin pan which worked really well and I do encourage you to give these a go!
Make sure you stay up to date with all the latest recipes from Jo’s Kitchen Larder
Pin 6 Morning Pick-Me-Up Treats for later!
